When you start erecting a building as large as the Creighton School of Dentistry, there is a lot of planning in the details. You just don't show up with a crane and start putting a structure together without a road map.
This past weekend we watched two months of preparation with the city of Omaha, Creighton University, Davis Erection, and Coreslab Structures executed flawlessly.
It may have caused some anxiety with drivers on Cuming Street as the busy flow of traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions. The minor inconvenience allowed a Davis Erection Crane to occupy two eastbound lanes so it could erect 23 precast panels, some weighing as much as 30,000 pounds!
