Position: BIM Coordinator
Reports To: VDC Manager
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Full-time position in a general contracting environment. Working as a key member of the project team, the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator personally utilizes building and construction design and modeling tools and applications (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.). The BIM Coordinator works closely with the design team and construction team, including subcontractors, during the various phases of the project. This position requires technical expertise as well as collaboration and coordination skills; the blend of these skills can vary from project to project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum educational requirement is an Associate’s degree in technical design/drafting or equivalent. BS degree is preferred in a field such as: Construction Management or Engineering (Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural). Five years construction environment experience is desired including a combination of: Two or more years of BIM production and BIM coordination, and project engineering or project supervision in a field environment. Skill set to include significant technical expertise in building and construction design and modeling tools and applications (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360, SketchUp), collaboration and coordination skills, and personal communication skills (written, oral, presentation). Experience with Autodesk BIM360 platforms, Procore and Bluebeam is helpful but not required. An acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered. In addition to the technical BIM applications noted previously, candidates will need excellent capabilities in the Microsoft environment (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Communicates effectively in both oral and written English general and technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing documents and reports. The position may require significant interaction with other functional areas within the company, various types and levels of employees, and third parties; and should therefore possess good interpersonal and customer service skills.
