POSITION: CDL Driver                   
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt, Full-time

GENERAL SUMMARY
Full-time position for MCL Construction, a 33+ year construction manager and general contractor working primarily in commercial construction and based in Omaha, NE.  MCL has been a trusted partner on thousands of projects of all types and sizes throughout the Midwest.  The CDL Driver will be responsible or transporting equipment between our commercial jobsites. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
  • Drive truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
  • Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
  • Transport construction equipment between jobsites using tractor trailers
  • Safely and effectively unload equipment at selected destinations
  • Perform daily safety checks of brakes, tires, daily
  • Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo on each trip
  • Inspect trailer before and after loading paying attention to airlines and jack positions and adjusting as needed.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance as needed on trailers and equipment
  • Complete daily driving logs as required by law
  • Primarily Omaha Metro area but could require day trips to central Nebraska or other locations not requiring an overnight stay
  • Maintain schedule daily
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • CDL License
  • Two year of experience working as CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on record
  • 2+ years with no moving violations
  • Understand weight limitations and capabilities of truck and trailers
  • Understand the laws of the road as required by department of transportation
  • Effectively able to communicate with dispatchers, job site foreman and other construction-related workers
  • Must hold a commercial drivers license and have a clean driving record
  • Familiar with operating construction equipment including but not limited to: telehandlers, skid steers, scissor lifts, warehouse forklifts, boom lifts, mini-excavators, etc.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Complete physical and drug screen successfully
  • Adhere to company rules and procedures
Preferred
  • Completion of professional truck driving educational program
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
