As important as it is for us to be a good building partner, it’s even more important to be a great community partner.
MCL Construction contributes to several local charities and nonprofit organizations every year. Our employees serve as board members, mentors, and volunteers, and are committed to building positive relationships and make a lasting impact with those we serve with.
The employees of MCL Construction understand the importance of giving back to a community that is committed to making lives better for everyone. The commitment to service is demonstrated with action; our employees have volunteered an impressive 3,540 service hours in 2016, that works out to an average of just over 26 volunteer hours per employee for the year.
In 2011, MCL Construction started Scare Away Cancer, a fundraiser in partnership with the Methodist Hospital Foundation to raise money for cancer programs and patients in Nebraska and Iowa.
In 2014, Scare Away Cancer became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization independently run by volunteers from MCL Construction. There are zero administrative costs with Scare Away Cancer and 100% of the monies raised go directly to the programs and patients we support. To date we have raised $569,169 for patients and programs.
The efforts of Scare Away Cancer would not be possible without the countless volunteer hours from MCL Construction employees. The support of our sponsors at our events throughout the year and the belief by everyone involved show that we are making a true impact in the fight against cancer.
