Morton Magnet Middle School said goodbye to portable classrooms and created a new addition to the existing school under than guidance of MCL Construction.

The addition and renovation project added 13 new classrooms to the school. MCL built a new 14,500 square foot addition with nine classrooms. The remaining four classrooms were a result of an 5,000 square foot auditorium renovation.

Also included in the project was the the near complete replacement of all mechanical equipment and electrical gear. The existing equipment was original to the building and going on 60+ years old. MEP subcontractors performed 12 months worth of rough-ins and preparatory work leading up to the summer of 2022. Services were brought back online prior to students returning inAugust 2022.
