The Lied Transplant Center at the Nebraska Medical Center was a first of it's kind when it was originally built in 1999. To accommodate growing patient needs and give staff more space to develop innovate practice models in transplantation, MCL renovated the existing building to meet their needs.
The renovation included over 20 patient rooms, clean/soiled rooms, staff break rooms, offices, new IT closets, and new emergency electric service and nurses stations. The project required complete removal of existing finishes, new heat pumps and duct work and a total demolition in some areas to create wider door frames into patient rooms and new nurses stations. Medical gas was added to each floor and connected to new patient headwalls Electrical upgrades include new emergency equipment and switch gear.
