"The building is one of the nicest and most visible in Fremont," said Dr. Fischer. "We liked that it was away from the hospital, so we were accessible from anywhere."
Holland Basham Architects designed the renovation project, partnering with Olsson Associates for mechanical and electrical. MCL Construction based in Omaha, Nebraska completed demolition of the 8,500 square foot space in July of 2016, and Dr. Fischer and his team opened for business in early January of 2017.
"Our patients have given us an overwhelmingly positive response to the new office," added Dr. Fischer. "Most are glad the building is no longer sitting empty, and we have given a very strong and firm commitment to Fremont and the surrounding communities to provide a high level of subspecialized orthopedic care."
The new clinic features a spacious lobby, exam rooms, and x-ray. Excel Physical Therapy is leasing space which provides added convenience for patients recovering from injuries or surgery.
Make no mistake about it, the inside of the building was completely gutted and rebuilt to what it is today; nothing from the original restaurant is left.
"Project Superintendent Brent Suing was fantastic," said Dr. Fischer. "He kept us on time and budget, always accessible, and easy to work with throughout the process. I would love to work on another project with MCL Construction."
