MCL Construction breaks ground on a new headquarters complex; the project is scheduled to be complete in the Spring of 2020.
"It's time," said MCL Construction President Bob Carlisle. "I could see this coming about three years ago but it's not just our growth that is behind this new home for MCL, we want to hire and retain the best employees in the construction industry."
MCL's new home will be just south of Giles Road on 145th Street in La Vista, Nebraska. In time there will be two buildings on the complex, starting with a 32,000 square foot office building and a planned future expansion of a 20,000 square foot shop with loading docks and a drive-through loading area.
"This is going to put on display just how aggressive and how innovative of a company we are and what we are capable of," said MCL Senior Vice President Tony Fucinaro. "These buildings will allow us to show the services and capabilities we have, not just to our clients, but our building and design partners."
Examples would be spaces dedicated to virtual and augmented reality, and collaboration labs that improve communication during design and provide a unique preconstruction and building experience.
"What I am excited for are the spaces we have dedicated to training," said Fucinaro. "We will have dedicated instructional spaces that can hold up to 80 of our employees at one time."
Training that will lead to an engaged and educated workforce that serves as the catalyst for growth into the future. That includes expanding MCL's geographical footprint.
"Look at the real estate we are sitting on, it gives us room to grow," said Carlisle. “We are not locked in the day we move in."
MCL currently has 160 employees and continues to hire the best and brightest from inside and outside the construction industry.
The new home will be MCL's third in its 32-year history.
