Omaha-based MCL Construction is the Construction Manager and General Contractor for the project. Barker Rinker Seacat, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, is the lead architect with HGM and Associates assisting on a local level.
The year-long project will be completed in several phases and add new and exciting features for the growing membership base, including:
- Expanded fitness center
- Addition of indoor walking track
- Two-story soft play zone and larger birthday party rooms
- Improved and updated entry
"This is an unprecedented opportunity to continue to develop and enhance the services we offer to the Omaha community. The significant changes we're implementing have the potential to affect multiple generations of Kroc Center attendees in their search for discovering and developing their God-given talents," said Major Todd Thielke, Senior Kroc Center Officer.
MCL Construction was selected to build the project in 2015; it has collaborated with Kroc Center officials and the design team over several months on preconstruction and budgeting activities. MCL completed the last major project at the Kroc Center, the addition of a new locker room in 2011.
"We are thrilled to be working with the Salvation Army and Kroc Center officials," said MCL Construction President Bob Carlisle. " This project is going to have a significant impact on the South Omaha community."
