For the third year in a row, the jerseys worn by Lancer players during the game will be auctioned off with all of the proceeds going to Scare Away Cancer. The first two jersey auctions have raised over $15,000 for Scare Away Cancer. MCL Construction is the Official Sponsor of the jersey auction.
Scare Away Cancer is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers from MCL Construction and other community members. The organization provides support year-round for patients, families, and programs to help in the fight against cancer. In 2016, Scare Away Cancer distributed close to $100,000 directly to patients and families. Scare Away Cancer has raised close to $700,000 in seven years.
The Omaha Lancers play in the United States Hockey League and have been a sponsor of Scare Away Cancer the last three years.
"We love being involved with such a great team," says Omaha Lancers President Bryan Marshall. "Everyone at Scare Away Cancer is dedicated to helping as many people as they can throughout the year and I'm proud to say the Lancers are right there with them."
The game against Lincoln will be one of the biggest of the season as the Lancers and Stars are longtime rivals. You can buy tickets by clicking here. It's recommended to purchase in advance as a sellout at Ralston Arena is expected.
