MCL Construction in Omaha, Nebraska, fills in the "gaps" at Creighton University's Morrison Stadium by giving the upper level of the stadium a finished look with the addition of suites, offices, meeting space, and multi-level area for press and technology operations.
Morrison Stadium is highly regarded as one of the premier soccer facilities in the country. The newest addition to the stadium gives the coaches the best seats in the house when it comes to prospective recruits.
There are four new suites for fans. The spaces have movable walls which means they can be configured a number of different ways. Each space includes spectacular views of the playing surface, lounge seating, television, and a refrigerator and sink.
Creighton needed space at Morrison Stadium to meet the digital media demands of the sport. The new control room will allow the school to broadcast games and have the broadcast team inside an enclosed booth and still have the ability for cameras on the second level to get a great shot of the match.
The new north suite will be used by Creighton Soccer Alumni and friends of the program's every game. It also gives the coaches and teams a smaller meeting area on non-game days to meet as a staff or with players in a small group setting.
Additional work on the project included a dropped ceiling on the lower level concourse. This was installed as an extra level of insulation to keep the floors heated on the upper level of the stadium.
The TACK Architects-designed project was completed on time for the Nebraska State High School Soccer Championship and will be fully operational for the 2018 Creighton soccer season.
