MCL Construction in Omaha, Nebraska, makes the American dream of home ownership come true for one Omaha family. MCL, a commercial construction manager and general contractor, participated in Habitat for Humanity Builders Blitz. "This project was truly a team effort," said Sam Howe, MCL's Project Manager for the Builders Blitz. "It requires commitment from all parties involved and close coordination throughout the project. Everyone involved went above and beyond to make this happen." 2017 marked the 10th year in a row Habitat for Humanity of Omaha has brought builders from Omaha together. This year 10 homes were built in 10 days by 11 different contractors in the Adams Park neighborhood in North Omaha. |
"Handing over the keys and seeing the excitement and appreciation in the eyes of the family makes all of the hard work, stress, and long hours worth it," said Howe, who directed his first Builders Blitz for MCL Construction. "It is a humbling experience and one that I am honored to have been a part of."
This year's Builders Blitz is the start of a transformation for the Adams Park neighborhood. More than 20 new homes will be constructed on adjacent streets in the next two years.
