General Summary 
The Preconstruction Manager plays a pivotal role by strategically overseeing project budgets, QAQC, and cost-saving measures, while leading and mentoring the team. Collaborating with business development and project management, they assess project feasibility, estimate costs, and craft comprehensive proposals. This dynamic leadership ensures effective project planning, a smooth preconstruction to construction transition, and fosters strong client relationships.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee project budgets and provide cost-saving recommendations to enhance project profitability while overseeing preconstruction QAQC activities to ensure quality standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the preconstruction team, fostering professional growth and development within the department.
• Manage the workload and assignments for the preconstruction team, ensuring tasks are distributed efficiently and deadlines are met in a timely manner.
• Strategically oversee large pursuits ensuring effective management of the preconstruction process to deliver competitive and compelling proposals to clients.
• Participate in job interviews with potential clients, showcasing the preconstruction team's expertise, capabilities, and commitment to delivering successful construction projects.
• Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and partners, fostering a network of reliable and qualified resources to support project needs.

 
Qualification and Competencies

• Proven experience as a Preconstruction Manager or similar role with a successful track record in leading preconstruction efforts for commercial construction projects.
• Extensive knowledge of construction cost estimating, value engineering, and project planning principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess project feasibility and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in cost estimation and proposal preparation.
• Capability to negotiate and build relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
