Project Details. The new SAC Federal Credit Union Headquarters in Papillion, Nebraska, is an example of a true collaborative project beginning in the earliest stages with the owner and the architect. The team effort is a big reason this project finished three weeks ahead of schedule and $1 million below the original contract value.
MCL Construction's preconstruction team was able to identify key subcontractors early in the budgeting process and bring them on board to offer specialty expertise in delivering the systems and special features designed into the project. Our preconstruction and value management efforts identified and established cost and schedule savings without sacrificing any of the high-end features that make this building unique. The spacious atrium features white oak glu-lam beams with a "floating" staircase at the centerpiece. SAC Federal Credit Union is first class office space that was constructed with its employees in mind. Collaborative work spaces, a fitness facility, and a large break room are some of the features employees enjoy. The SAC Federal Credit Union Headquarters building is also energy-efficient. There are over 200 geothermal wells on the property that work with the building's chilled beam mechanical system. MCL Construction turned the building over with a full BIM model and 3D high definition scan of the mechanical room with trueview software to assist in the facility management process.
