What was once old is new again. MCL Construction completed a comprehensive renovation of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska.
The inside of the church was completely demolished and reconstructed. MCL Construction was able to save the interior wood wall paneling at the request of parishioners and re-use the material on the renovation. The refinished paneling blended seamlessly with the new features: pews, altar, and baptismal font. A magnetic wire was installed under the church floor that assists people with hearing aids to connect to the sound system for better hearing.
The exterior of the church was stripped of its steel paneling and replaced with brick and stone finishes. This feature ties the structure in with the rest of the church campus. The project also included the addition of 4,000 square feet of entry space with a wall of windows that lets in natural light and provides an open space feeling.
