MCL Construction renovated existing space at the University of Nebraska Medical Center to prepare for and install a new MRI machine.
The project consisted of a complete demolition of the existing MRI room and carefully coordinated reconstruction to meet the requirements of the new technology. Our renovations included replacing magnetic and RF shielding, the quench vent, chilled water supply and return lines, heat exchanger, casework, flooring, and finishes. MCL also upgraded all of the existing mechanical and electrical systems.
MCL created temporary openings in public corridors and patient care areas to extract the existing MRI and deliver and install the new machine. The project was completed around operational MRI rooms and patient care areas. MCL worked closely with the hospital so construction would not impact adjacent patient care areas.
