The new Gretna High School is a massive project. In the site and field alone, you could fit 80 regulation-size football fields.
Taking on a project of this size requires an experienced, motivated, and prepared construction team. MCL understood the work required and planned to break the high school up into two projects. The high school and the site/field work would be completed by two different teams while simultaneously working together.
Nick Brim has been building for MCL Construction for four years. He is the site and field superintendent for the new high school. More than your average school field, this roughly 3,670,000 square foot space will resemble something more like an outdoor sports complex.
Made for every student-athlete, the space includes turf baseball, softball, football, and soccer fields. The turf will feature a sub-draining system so weather will not impact play. The space will also include six tennis courts, a practice field, a track, three separate press boxes equipped with audio/visual technology, concession stands, restrooms, batting cages, and bullpens.
In addition to the fields, Nick is responsible for laying utilities that will power both the field and the high school. Right now, MCL is 50% done with laying utilities and working on the footings for all the buildings on the field.
