Centris Federal Credit Union was looking for something new and something different when building its new branch at 518 E. Broadway in Council Bluffs. Now that it is open, employees and members have discovered the new building is exactly what they wanted and more.
"We want our members to feel like it's a warm and inviting atmosphere," says Centris Federal Credit Union President and CEO Steve Swanstrom. "We accomplished that with a lot of the natural lighting that comes into the branch; there's something about natural light that puts people in a good mood."
Members will like other amenities in the 3,400 square foot branch, like the technology devices in the waiting area, colorful, comfortable furniture, and a large media wall that displays the latest news from the Credit Union.
"What we focused on when we were ready to invest in another branch is the member experience," says Ann Helm, Senior Vice President, Administration. "They are the same concepts that we have in our other locations; it just pushed the envelope ever so slightly to make it a better experience."
MCL Construction completed this Holland Basham Architects design in under a year’s time. The building features additional private office space, a break room, and a large canopy with pneumatic tubes for drive-thru banking.
"When you have a partnership, you can pick up the phone and say help me make a decision on this matter; the input is delivered from MCL and you know you can trust it," said Helm. "These are not cheap projects and you want to make sure they are done right the first time and MCL can deliver that."
