Scare Away Cancer’s support of the Inner Beauty Salon at the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center continues with a $15,000 donation. The donated dollars will be used for charitable care throughout 2021.
The money provides wigs, mastectomy bras, other garments, and accessories to patients who may not be able to afford it. Scare Away Cancer and Methodist Hospital have a lasting partnership. This check presentation is an annual donation because everyone deserves to feel beautiful inside and out. After a cancer diagnosis, the last thing you should have to worry about is your hair or physical appearance.
In 2020, funds provided by Scare Away Cancer were used to help 71 patients. It would have been more if COVID-19 would not have interrupted salon services from mid-March through June. Inner Beauty opened an online retail store at the end of 2020 to better serve its clients.
Scare Away Cancer has been a long supporter of the Inner Beauty Salon and the Methodist Hospital Foundation donating $167,000 dollars since 2014.
